Sinharaja

Hidden deep in the wet zone of Sri Lanka’s south-western mountains, the Sinharaja Forest Reserve is a rare natural treasure. It has protected itself from modern threats to give us a true glimpse of paradise. Recognized as a World Heritage Site, Sinharaja is one of the most important and unique biospheres in the world.

This rainforest is home to a huge variety of plants and animals, many of which live only in Sinharaja. More than 60% of the trees and 50% of the mammals, butterflies, insects, reptiles, fish, and amphibians here cannot be found anywhere else. It is also a sanctuary for over 21 species of birds that are unique to this forest.

Sinharaja offers a special chance to experience nature in its purest form, making it a must-visit destination for anyone who loves wildlife and untouched forests.
